Join us for a relevant conversation between Stuart Kaplan and Marcus Riley, moderated by award-winning journalist Lori Stokes.

Lori Stokes

Lori Stokes is an eight‑time Emmy Award–winning journalist with a distinguished 40‑year career at FOX 5 and WABC.

Since retiring in 2022, she devotes her time to advocacy and community service, including her work with Selfhelp. She currently serves as a Distinguished Visiting Community Scholar at CWRU’s Mandel School.

Stuart Kaplan

Stuart Kaplan is the CEO of Selfhelp Community Services, serving more than 25,000 older adults across New York.

A respected leader in aging services, he has served on numerous state and national Boards, including the NYS Master Plan on Aging Stakeholder Advisory Committee and LeadingAge’s CAST.

Stuart has written extensively on senior housing, nonprofit ethics, and care for Holocaust survivors.

Marcus Riley

Marcus Riley, founder of the Booming Ageing Agency and author of Booming, is a globally recognized advocate for positive ageing.

He is the 2025 LeadingAge Award of Honour recipient—the first non‑American to receive the distinction—and a past chairman of the Global Ageing Network. He also represents global aging issues at the United Nations and serves as the Asia‑Pacific lead for the Stakeholder Group on Ageing.
